{About Penny Blooms Floral Design}
Desiree Logue Champagne started working at a local florist almost 15 years ago and she promptly fell in love with floral design. Years of working with other wedding florists and owning her own wedding planning business helped her to bring Penny Blooms Floral Designs to life. The goal of her talented team is bring beautiful floral design to any bride, party planner or DIY crafter within any budget.
A little more about Desiree...
1. If I didn't work in the wedding industry… I would love to work at fab.com. It’s my internet obsession.
2. If there were eight days in a week… I would probably get more sleep than I do now.
3. Favorite restaurant is… The Woodland in Austin, TX. But in San Diego it’s Coops West Texas BBQ.
4. In high school, I started dating my husband.
5. My author de jour is Suzanne Collins, I LOVE the Hunger Games series. LOVE!
6. I grew up in sunny San Diego.
7. Most memorable wedding moment? I accidently knocked over a very tall aisle arrangement just before a wedding ceremony (in front of guests). But I was able to put it back together and it looked as if nothing had ever happened. There’s nothing like saving the day from your own mistake!
8. What drives you to be successful? I want my time away from my Son Desmond and my Husband Sebastian to be as valuable as possible. I want to know that I am contributing to their happiness and a good future for our family.
9. Why did you choose the wedding profession? I fell into the wedding industry because I love working with flowers and a friends-friend needed help. Now my goal is to be honest and help brides focus their ideas into a beautiful event, while not overspending.
10. My first job… was when I was 14 and I worked as an Administrative Assistant for a non-partisan political youth action committee.
11. Current favorite wedding theme… I am super nerdy so any nerdy themed weddings are an absolute delight!
12. If you could only give one piece of advice to a bride, what would it be? Choose a theme and stick with it. A theme can be your biggest money saver. (Unless your theme is a super-rare element, like uranium.)
13. Current favorite color combos for weddings? I am really loving anything with grey.
14. Something most people don’t know about me is… I am secretly writing a novel about time travel in my head. Let the suspense begin!
15. My wedding… was only about 12 people and had a Moroccan theme. The food was UH-MAY-ZING! Side note, yes I did make my own bouquet.
